Dr. John Douillard - Ayurveda for DetoxReviewsThe DVD is complete, simple and very helpful for ideas about well being on a mental, spiritual and physical levels. I liked it so much that I plan to give friends copies of the DVD as an empowering gift for well-being. The Book 3 IN 1 by the same author was and is also excellent (I am still reading it). It simplifies ones life and it makes sense about how to eat in harmoney and circumvent or solve those problems with craving. I love both and recommend them highly. Lamees We ordered all three of their publications. Unfortunatley, 65% or more of the items were repeated on all three DVD. There was very little new from one to other DVD. However, whatever was given was useful. I really enjoy this DVD; it is very well done. Dr. Douillard simply and clearly explains principles of Ayurveda on the DVD and the 36-page guide included with it is a helpful reference. The seasonal grocery lists are great, and the action plan at the end, including skin brushing, self-massage, breathing exercises and yoga practice are now an important part of my morning. I did the 4-day cleanse this autumn to manage my allergies with success; I feel light and clear. I think anyone would benefit from this information and technique to maintain and/or improve health. The Detox DropReviewsI have tried many cleansing methods and this one kept its promises and was rewarding to complete. After I finished the first three days, my body craved the following 3 days, so I did the 6 days options. I simply love this cleaning method. I had a lot of energy on the fourth day and felt wonderful. I was looking for a kick-start to a clean and healthy diet. I got it AND I got a lot more. For starters, I lost 8 lbs. that stayed off. More importantly, I truly felt rejuvenated by the entire experience. I experienced increased energy and, for some reason, enhanced mental focus at work. The program appears a bit extreme at first, but I found that the novelty of it kept me interested and on track. Over the six-day course, my body's relationship with food changed. Upon completion, I felt that I had pressed the "reset" button and then easily graduated to eating a clean and healthy diet. If you do it and find yourself desiring more calories on Day 3, just work through it. The richer smmoothies and increased solids on days 4-6 make it worthwhile. Once you are Detox'd, you'll think twice before re-introducing junk into your system. That's why I believe that I am still getting benefits from having done the Detox Drop. I saw the commercial on TV and thought I'd give it a try. I felt great for the 6 days, almost sharper at work than ever before. And I lost 7 pounds. I thought Robert's lectures on the DVD were very informative. This was awful. I did not feel well through the whole detox. Also was starved. Now, my tummy is almost three inches smaller than my hips (I will not say what exact number those inches are). Next, it controls the appitite big time without hunger pangs. I found myself rashioning out one candy bar throughtout the day very easily - My usual intake of candy/sweets is - Little Debbies for breakfast, candy bar deserts at mealtimes & if doughnuts were offered at anytime - I went off my "diet" for the day - Homemade cookies & the diet would get started next month. That kind of eatting style is all but gone. And finally, there are now sometimes leftovers on my plate & I rarely go back for seconds unless I really liked it. So in closing I report no fifty pounds lost in one week, no "swim the English channel" energy. But no weight gain - a sensible loss of 6 pounds in three months, with no adverse reactions. I should also say that I have take this with a colon clenser & have regular bathroom habits - I can get through a 2 hour car trip without being in agony. So, take this info as you wish. Acai is a good health supplement to take not just for energy but also to help fight the stuff out there that can cause cancer. I find myself losing weight with this product but my main priority is to be healthy. This is 100% acai, not like some of the other stuff out there that I had tried. I think it is worth the money. This product does curb appetite. It allows me to not eat midlessly but make the right choices. I do also notice an improvement in my energy levels. I have not been excercising since I started taking this product. I will update the review once I start working out. So I feel that this product is worth some attention. No product info on label. Just finished my second case of lemon. Love the lemon and the tartness to this drink. I think it's a matter of opinion. It really helps curb my appetite and I have lost weight and feel more energetic, and over-all just healthier. It is not a super sweet flavor, and thats good because I would crave sweet stuff all day. However, it is very tolerable and becomes addicting after a few days. All flavors are good to me, and it beats having to make the lemonade diet from scratch. I love lemonade and drink lots of it in a variety of flavors and sweetness. I thought for sure I would love this or at least find it tolerable. The truth is, it is just plan awful! I can't even drink it. It has a horrible taste, no sweetness and a very foul after-taste. I have to mix it into a crystal light pitcher to get it down. In terms of the Simpifast overall, I would highly recommend it. I lost 5lbs in 3 days and have kept it off. This is the best way to do a detox or fast without feeling weak or getting a headache. Since it is sweetened with maple syrup, it maintains blood sugar with no ups and downs. Plus the 11 grams of fiber make it very filling, without the problem of running to the bathroom all day, LOL. Best of all, it is very convenient and portable. I would highly recommend the drink but NOT in this flavor! Even though I like Simplifast, the flavor is so bad, I cannot give it more than 2 stars After losing the 14lbs with this product, I have used Simplifast over the last 5 months on a daily basis. Natalia Rose is a phenomenal nutritionist and her knowledge is apparent in her approach to help people get healthier through excreting the years of build-up in our intestines, through a guided transitional diet plan. Rather than watching portion sizes and such, she encourages you to listen to your body and eat more of the same food group rather than mixing groups. Food combining is amazingly beneficial and sets your body back to reset. I know because I've followed her plans for years and never have stomach issues, rarely feel guilty about overeating and excrete at least 3 times a day (not to be too graphic). I lost a few pounds even though I didn't need to when I started with little effort and learned to relax more about eating and exercizing. If you are trying to get healthier but need a little leniency in your plan, Natalia Rose hands you the reigns to go as far deep as you want to or need to. LOve this book.. Especially pg 36 food separation. It is the missing link to all diets.. Only one adjustment I make to the advice in this book, is that I avoid sugary fruit, dried fruit and starches for I have an insulin sensitivity.. and I think for most people too much sugar and carbs is no good This is a great way to detox and lose weight. I am taking a class at a friend's house and this book outlines the program we are following. I am doing really well. I am 47 yrs old and thought I would never lose another pound. I have lost 8.5 lbs so far. I am looking forward to losing more. I plan to have a great summer! this book provides a great transition to a healthier lifestyle. I am switching from a "better than the average american" diet to a raw vegan diet and I found this book tremendously helpful in doing that slowly and safely. Simple yet effective explanations and rationale and simple and delicious recipes. I refer to this book multiple times a day. I found the book easy to read and to follow. I was looking for a way of life with my eating pattern, amounts, "doability," and found it all in this book. I am in the process of transitioning to this way of eating for health, weight loss, and better appearance. Fat Flush for Life: The Year-Round Super Detox Plan to Boost Your Metabolism and Keep the Weight Off PermanentlyReviewsI love this book. It presents a whole body plan for the whole year. I do pretty well on the Fat Flush Plan because I feel like I'm always eating healthy and Ann Louise actually uses some research and science for her plan. Now with this book there are realistic allowances for taste changes during the year. It's easy to eat lots of salad during the summer but once it gets cold eating salads all the time is unrealistic for me. I also like her inclusion of Bach Flower Remedies and aromatherapy for each season and quick yoga exercises. I'm a fan of Ann Louise Gittleman, this book feels like it was written for me and I was thrilled when I noticed that it had been autographed. Well, another diet book purchase that didn't prove too successful. I appears that the only way I am going to get rid of this fat is to have it nipped, cut, and sucked out. I live in a small town and I can't afford to run around to the big city to get items to make the diet work. I rated this book a 3.5, for most of the information is good. So instead of reiterating what was good, I have expressed items that can really make or break you from following this diet. The problems with this book are as follows: 1. There are no substitutes to the some of the more expensive products she recommends. For examples: Flora-key, Fat Flush whey, etc. Only directs you to her distributor "Unikey" - Have to do a lot of research and digging to get some alternatives: Flora-key use Jarro-Dophilus® + FOS Powder (12 billion) but cut dosage in 1/2. For the whey use Jarrow Whey Protein Vanilla Other people have suggestions?? 2. It requires a BIG food budget. To get you through the first week, expect to pay around 300 if you don't have any of the supplements (whey, flax oil, probotics, cranberry juice) It does get a little cheaper for the rest of the month, but as soon as you run out of the supplements... $$$ 3. It requires a LOT of time for food preparation. I noticed this was probably a big issue with her first book, since she now does "left over" days. Don't be surprised if you spend 1 - 2 hours a night to prep food for the next day (assuming you work during the day). 4. Items that don't have set recipes are very hard to follow and require a LOT of interpolation. How to cook the food, how much to serve, etc. 5. No good gauge on how much food to buy. Because of number 4, you don't know if you need to buy one carrot vs 5lbs of carrots. Based on this there isn't really a shopping list for the 14-day(s) meal plans that provides. Making it VERY time consuming to go through the book and write/type down the shopping list. In wrap up, unless you are willing to sacrifice time and money, you may want to look at another option. The First Lady of Nutrition did it again. Great book for the Fat Flush Veteran or new comers. Great recipes. Some new suppliments. The book really takes a whole life approach. Easy on for people on the go to follow. This book is about your mind, body and soul and how it all relates to healthy weight loss. Two thumbs up from me. After attempting a different detox plan I immediately went back to what I know works! I have done the Fat Flush, The Fast Track detox plan and now, Fat Flush 4 Life and all I can say is WOWSERS! I love it! In a month I lost 14 lbs eating things I enjoy! I even began taking recipes that "un-fat flushed" would be taboo and made them "Approved"! I love the pesto and fish (have made it with every type of fish imaginable!)! The only recipe I made and then threw away was the Schezwan Eggplant (sp?). Couldn't bare to eat it myself so I certainly couldn't serve it to my family. I love that the fruits & veggies suggested are those in season vs. constantly substituting for what is available. I know I won't do some of the "complete" detox exercises she suggests (there is NO WAY I could keep oil in my mouth for 20 minutes!)...but with the results I'm reaping I don't feel it's necessary! I just want a clean/healthy body and I feel I'm getting it! My clients are so impressed with my results that a few of them have began the program as well as a couple of my co-workers! I suggest buying the journal she offers. I think it's a great way to track your progress, how you feel, the changes you've noticed, etc. For me, I've learned about foods I need to now stay away from and foods that "do my body good". I don't snack at night anymore and oddly enough, no longer feel I need to or that it's my God given right to have nachos at 10:30pm if I want them! LOL! I've learned a lot about myself and why I ate the way I did and how much my eating has changed and how good it makes me feel that I'm choosing whole-good-natural foods. Love Love Love it! BTW...I had my mom do this with me and she loves her bread, cheese and wine. Those things were the hardest for her to give up (crabby patty for a little while!)! But now she has a slice of Food 4 Life Spelt, cheese (not necessarily together), yummy brown rice, etc. and she's one happy camper! The first couple days of changing a lifetime of eating are the hardest. By mid-week you begin to feel proud of yourself for doing something good for yourself. The Rice Diet Solution: The World-Famous Low-Sodium, Good-Carb, Detox Diet for Quick and Lasting Weight LossReviewsI found the diet in the recent womans world magazine. I have ordered the rice and chili on line. It was not available in my local market. Until it arrives I will stick to fruit and brown rice. I am excited to think that this will work and in desperate need to lose weight I will give it my all. I will stick with the magazine version for a week or two and then make a book investment. Your comments are great and inspiring. I lost 70 lbs on the McDougall diet, kept it off for several years. A new job and some habit changes meant 30 lbs gained in about 3 years. Now I've got a wedding coming up in 2 months, and in true form, waiting til the last minute, I decided to try The Rice Diet for the following reasons: Dr. McDougall reccommended it. Why didn't I do the McDougall diet instead? Because the rice diet said lose up to 20 lbs the first month, and McDougall's said 15. With my wedding around the corner, I figured I'd need that extra 5. I do not do fad diets. I prefer medically based diets that are proven to reduce heart disease, etc. I learned this the hard way, after doing a couple low-carb diets and the terrifying side effects I experienced. I prefer diets that are not diets, rather, lifestyles that I can adopt for the rest of my life. This and McDougall fit the bill, however, like I said, this one had that extra 5lbs promise... so I gave it a try. This diet is also environmentally friendly...as in, you can go compeletely without meat if you choose to. One problem I have with diets is that I'M ALWAYS HUNGRY. They said in the Rice Diet book, that you won't be hungry. I did not believe it. Prior to the diet, I'd had some potato chips for breakfast, some oatmeal, a banana, a handful of hershey's kisses...ETC., I basically tallyed up my calories, and I'd surpassed 600 calories for breakfast and I was still FAMISHED. So hearing, "you won't be hungry..." I thought, "well, this is a crock." To my complete shock, it was true! When I started the diet, I was not hungry. They limit your salt intake, saying that salt is a trigger, an appetite stimulant. Having that bag of chips for breakfast triggered this massive appetite, and whenever I did that, I'd eat all morning long, non stop. Yeah, stupid to eat chips, I know, but hey, better than sausage, right? So now I'm eating yogurt with cereal and fruit for breakfast because I like that more than oatmeal, and I'm not gobbling everything around me. In the first week, I lost 10 lbs, gained 2 as I started my menstrual cycle--this was interesting as well...I did not have as much of the physical/emotional pms as usual. Usually, I GAIN 3-6 lbs during pms. So to lose 10 lbs during this time and only gain 2 was very surprising. I am not a big believer in "detoxing," but I do know that we ingest a lot of chemicals in our food, which is why I try to avoid them. It was a big epiphany moment for me to realize, "hey, chemicals are not food!" Duh. So a few years ago, I quit eating food with chemicals as ingredients. It makes a little sense that if I eat healthy, and chemical free, that maybe (hopefully) the crap i ingested before might leave my system. Well, the first week on this diet,the detox part, I felt "clean." Like the cells in my body were clean or clear. This may not make sense. But it was a good feeling. I was not weighed down. In the past, sometimes I just wouldn't feel well. Especially after certain meals. I can't recall having such a 'clean' or 'clear' feeling in my body. The book does reccommend excercise, but they say walking is fine. Or yoga, or tai chi. Because their reccommendations weren't extreme, and I wasn't intimidated, I, Ms. Aversion to Excercise, have actually started doing a little. Less than the reccommended hour a day, but a little, which, for me, is a lot. So the pluses are you lose weight,you feel good, it's a healthy way to diet, and there are health benefits. The downside is that the book should have the portion sizes and the plan and the recipes together. I had to keep flipping back from the recipes to where it said the portion sizes were. "Okay, if I make this, how much of it can I eat...where was that page again..." Also, in the beginning,which is where I"m at now, unless you follow their meal plans, it does take some time to map out your own meal plans. Eating at restaurants is not easy. I went to a mexican place, got a side of black beans, a side of lettuce and tomatoes, and a side of corn tortillas and ate that without too much consequence. But everything in restaurants is loaded with salt. But my favorite part is that I am not physically hungry. This was the worst part for me when dieting, was fighting that insatiable hunger. On this, I am not physically hungry. Yes, I get "mouth hungry," when I just want to eat for fun, becauase something tastes good. But it's a joy to be not body hungry. I had to make mental adjustments, too. I think we're addicted to stuff like excess salt and artificial flavors. It's like crack. If we don't get that mouth jolt, we feel like we're going without. But I'm realizing that eating food...eating real food, like fruits and vegetables and beans, as nature intended, not covering them with salt and sugar, etc., I've had to learn to taste more, and let go the artificially stimulating foods that I think we've been programmed to get addicted to. Like the jolt of flavor in the first bite of a dorito, or blast of artificial flavor and sugar in sodas. I was addicted to that. But now, having to taste what food tastes like for real, it's been good, in a good way. I purchased this book with the intent of losing a little weight. I went on my version of the rice diet because the real deal cost too much. I lost thirty pounds in seven weeks which is amazing for me. I would recommend this for anyone that can use it. Check with your doctor first if you have health problems. The title of the book seems unrelated the diet plan itself. To me the main emphasis appears to be on eliminating salt from your diet. This is supposed to make the food less appealing, but I think the main thing it will do is keep you from retaining water which will cause you to lose water weight in the first week. I was not impressed. This is an awesome lifestyle change that will help you see weightloss within 24 hours if you stick to it. I lost 22lbs the first month and between Dec. and May I lost a total of 52lbs. I had so much energy and I felt so great when I started this. I love this! Average Rating:![]() |

People are starting to be more aware of their food intake, starting a new hype over the need for detoxification. Detoxification is the process of removing toxic substances from the body. Primarily referred to as a treatment for alcohol and drug dependence, body detox can also refer to the use of diets, herbs and other methods to remove toxins from the body for general health.
So, are you thinking of cleansing your body? Here are a few tips for healthy and wise and effective detoxification.
Go for a non-toxic lifestyle. This means going for natural food, drinking lots of fluids, especially water, exercising regularly and avoiding toxic food like junkfood, canned good, and other processed food. At the same time, you can try out a Detox Diet that will cleanse your body and give relief to body aches, allergies, digestive problems and other related concerns.
If you’re on a detox program, take as much fresh fruits and vegetables as possible, nuts, beans, rice and grains. On the other hand, take note not to indulge in sugar, caffeine, yeast, alcohol, chocolates and other food rich in additives and preservatives.
Plan your detox program. You can do a weekend fast. It is good to start on a Friday, with the weekend giving you the transition in and out of your detox program. Likewise, make sure that your detox plan is something that you can follow. Detoxifying does not mean starving yourself.
Appreciate nature. Exercise outdoors. The fresh air can do wonders for your lungs and circulation. If you live near the beach, it’s always good to take a walk or sprint early morning by the seashore. Have a balanced schedule of activity that will give you time for work and fun at the same time. Try yoga or pilates. Skip rope or walk in your neighborhood. Do anything to keep that body of yours up and running and always on the go.
Go for the spa. Take a shower and do skin brushing to help you detoxify. Rubbing your skin improves circulation and helps you shed off those dead skin layer.
Make sure that you have a regular bowel movement. Eat food rich in fiber. There’s also tea and other herbs which can help aid bowel movement. When you’re detoxifying, bowel movement is important as it lessens the possibility of toxins being absorbed into the body.
Be positive. A healthy mind means a healthy body. Rid yourself of all negative thoughts. They’re added toxins to the body. Smile and have the will and the commitment to your detox plan.
It’s never too late to start cleansing yourself, especially your body. With our hurried lifestyle in this up and busy and polluted world, we’re all entitled to some personal pleasures as simple as taking care of our health. Body detox may be as simple as ridding yourself of your negative thoughts by taking a walk in the park and letting the fresh air wash over your thoughts. Or it can be as complicated as following a strict detox diet to eliminate toxins in our digestive system.
